About Valley Home Ducts
The short of it
Valley Home Ducts is a plain-spoken reference on residential ductwork in California's Central Valley, written for homeowners from Stockton and Modesto to Sacramento and Fresno.

What this site covers
Valley Home Ducts covers the ducts in Valley houses: why attic ducts lose so much cooling in July, how Title 24 duct testing works when equipment is replaced, sealing and insulation, duct design and return air, filters and wildfire smoke, and the alternatives, from ductless mini-splits to evaporative coolers. The home page lays the rows out like a duct run.
Valley Home Ducts is not an HVAC contractor. It does no installs, repairs, testing or sealing, and it does not sell or schedule service. When a job calls for a professional, that is stated plainly, with questions to put to a licensed contractor.
How pages are researched
Every figure on a page comes from a named, linked source, mostly primary ones: Title 24 Part 6 in the utility-run Energy Code Ace copy, NOAA and the National Weather Service, ENERGY STAR, EPA, the California Air Resources Board, DOE Building America, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the PNNL Building America Solution Center, the Contractors State License Board and the IRS. Each page links its sources in the text and ends with a short note on what it is based on and what was left out.
Rules and money change, so pages carry the date they were checked. Rebate and tax-credit status on this site was read on October 28, 2026. When an error is found, the page is corrected and its updated date changes.
Pages do not include invented reviews, test results, prices or people, and no page tells a reader to open an air handler, work on gas appliances or handle refrigerant.
Who is behind it
The owners of Valley Home Ducts also own PlumbingSupplyAndMore (a plumbing and HVAC supply house), Central Plumbing HVAC (a heating and cooling company in Pennsylvania), and two water-treatment shops, SoftPro Water Systems and Quality Water Treatment. Some pages link to those businesses, and every such link is labeled. The full list is on Who Owns Valley Home Ducts, and the privacy notes explain what this site does and does not collect.
